Another one dives from the altar

I step away to avoid the pair of feet

Coming straight towards my head!

As the preacher prays from the small pedestal

Saying, SCREAMING his peace, his wisdom

While behind him, a sea of sound crashes into me

Sending the congregation into a spiral of resonance

The words he speaks amplified by the crowd

It is a familiar and controlled chaos

The years of rage and contempt

Being expelled in amplified shouts

A new religion, a healthy way of life

Forsake the bottle and the drag

For comradery and creation

Of something special

Something that can speak to the world

Night after night, the energy continues

As the preachers come and go

That leave us with oeuvres to last a lifetime

No matter where they may have gone

As old words are spoken in new ways

Deliveries change, and the seas of sound

Have different ways to resonate

I return to learn how I might improve

From the community, the words

The interactions I have

With both performers and viewers

I leave the church reinvigorated

As winds of inspiration and experience guide me

To create, living the best I can

And wherever I may go, revelation will stay with me.
